OstroVit Sodium Butyrate is a dietary supplement in cellulose vegan capsules containing sodium butyrate in the form of enteric microcapsules. Sodium butyrate is an ideal source of butyric acid, which has energy effects on the intestinal epithelium or colonocytes. OSTROVIT SODIUM BUTYRATE is enclosed in hydroxypropyl methylcellulose capsules (HPMC), and then microencapsulated, which thanks to their modified release properties (sodium butyrate) reach our intestines unchanged. Butyric acid (also butanoic acid) is an organic chemical compound from the group of carboxylic acids. It occurs naturally in hard cheeses, milk and silage. Unfortunately, the supplementation of butyric acid for our intestines with food does not bring too spectacular results because most often passing through our digestive system does not reach our small intestine where it is the main energy substrate for cells of our intestinal epithelium. Undeniably, it has a beneficial effect on our bacterial flora, walls of our intestines, but also on our other organs and tissues. The problem of disorders of the bacterial flora of our intestines is a very common cause of dysbiosis, which implies poor nutrition or long antibiotic therapy. Bacteria in our intestine are not able to produce the right amount of butyric acid in this case, which can lead to many digestive problems, the consequences of which can have much more serious consequences.
